Scope Systems has an integrated Support Department comprising Support Consultants and Programmers, the number of which we continue to grow to meet the demand of our client base in as timely and effective a manner as possible. We draw on the diverse skills and knowledge of our staff to provide advice and solutions for New Implementations, User Training, Troubleshooting and Requirements for Customisation to go beyond standard functionality.

Scope Systems conduct training courses in a variety of modules both on site and at our premises. We conduct monthly training courses covering various modules for general groups. As systems can be setup differently for each client, we also conduct specific training courses for these companies.

Training is conducted at our premises with facilities for up to 6 attendees with hands on access to a PC/laptop. Courses are generally a half or full day and can go over several days. Please see our web site for training dates.

Scope Systems offer a range of generic custom reports which have been developed based on reporting gaps identified in the past, as well as the ability to create and/or tailor reports to suit individual client needs. Over the years, our own custom reporting tool - the Job cost Report Writer - has been developed and refined to enable users to write their own reports incorporating data from the Project Module and the General Ledger. We offer assistance and training in the use of this and also the standard SQL reporting tool.

Nothing is impossible with a support and programming team capable of translating your reporting requirements into real time reporting output.

Crystal Development Tools are used to develop reports and dashboards with data from PRONTO-Xi and other sources.

In particular, Scope Systems are developing extensive suites of reports for use in the iWebgate Portal Server which contain:-

The PRONTO-Xi Integration Engine (PIE) is an efficient, cost effective way to programmatically access information from PRONTO-Xi to improve business agility and deliver on the benefits of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), self-service portals and Digital Dashboard infrastructures.

Rapid Deployment

Due to its straightforward architecture, PIE is typically easy to install and configure. An optional API Compiler takes your new and existing RAD API code and creates the COM objects and Java class extensions used by external applications. This ensures that your EAI, portal and Dashboard projects are completed as quickly as possible.

Simplified Administration

PIE features a browser-based Workbench that shields administrators from the complexity of managing services on multiple operating systems. Workbench provides monitoring of critical items such as running services, transaction throughput, failed requests and diagnostic information. High-level scripting supports the automation of routine tasks to ensure Administrators can focus on providing user services, rather than spend time monitoring low-level system functions. The PRONTO-Xi Integration Engine (PIE) is an efficient, cost effective way to programmatically access information from PRONTO-Xi to improve business agility and deliver on the benefits of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), self-service portals and Digital Dashboard infrastructures.

PIE allows incoming "calls" to PRONTO-Xi from COM objects, Java classes and Web Service (SOAP) calls. In essence, these calls extend the PRONTO-Xi Rapid Application Development (RAD) Business Logic to programming languages such as Java, C/C++ and Visual Basic, as well as commercial applications that support Remote Procedure Calls.

Scope Systems has used technology within PRONTO-Xi to tailor touch screen interfaces for various customers. These touch screens run as full-screen kiosk applications within the PRONTO-Xi environment, allowing users to interact with the system without the need for a keyboard or mouse. A Touch Screen device is essential.

Scope Systems offer the option to provide an Application Service Provider (ASP) agreement with the customer. Under this arrangement Scope Systems will provide the software and server hardware and the customer is charged a monthly fee for the service based on the number of concurrent users and range of software modules used. Printing and/or faxing is sent back to the customer’s premises.

The agreement requires:

• Payment to be made monthly in advance
• A minimum of 24 months with a 6 month notice period for termination

The ASP absolves the customer of the responsibility of maintaining their own system.

Scope Systems provide:

• Nightly backups of the customer data
• Safe storage of the data
• Offsite storage of backup data
• Maintain server operation and performance
• System upgrades and maintenance
• Server operating system

The customer is responsible for providing a communications link to our offices, this can be via the internet or dial up line.

Scope Systems configure systems and services to cover a disaster on the server. The servers are configured to operate with disks in RAID array so that a failure of any one disk will not cause the system to fail. The server utilises an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to maintain power to the server in the event of a power failure on the grid. The servers are configured to include a redundant power supply so that the server can continue to operate if either one fails. Furthermore, each server is configured with its own backup tape drive.

It is recommended the server be housed in a secure area on the customer premises.

The systems are programmed to perform a backup of the system to tape each night which can then be taken off site for data security. In addition to this, the tape unit can be used to take security copies of the data from the system at critical times such as month end and year end.

In the event of a disaster, the data on the tape can be restored to this or any other server.

Scope Systems provides the service of performing compatibility verification of tapes. The systems are configured with UPS monitoring software so the server can be shut down in a controlled manner if the grid power fails and the battery power in the UPS becomes exhausted.

Scope Systems uses and recommends hardware from Hewlett Packard (HP). Scope Systems has more than 100 customer sites throughout the world operating on this hardware and have found it to be functional and reliable. HP offer servers in either rack mount or floor standing configuration and Scope Systems will make recommendations on the appropriate model of server for the customer needs.

HP offers an international warranty on their equipment and has always honoured this.

Where Scope Systems supplies the hardware to the customer site, they will also manage any warranty claims on the equipment. This way the customer has a single point of contact for the entire system.

Although Scope Systems has a recommendation for HP hardware they are willing to discuss any individual customer preferences.
