It is important that our Software training is a positive experience and that the user feels that he or she is equipped to do their job on completion of the training. To achieve this objective we need an environment which lends itself to learning.
Where training is held on site the following is required:
- A suitable venue, a cool, quiet place without interruptions from other people or phone calls. Training away from the users' work area or off site is the best so that people are not called away from their training.
- The venue should have a digital projector / screen and a white board. If a digital projector is not available, one should be hired for the training.
- Computers must be available for the trainees to practice what they are learning. Max two people per computer but preferably one person per computer. The computers must be networked and have access to the site's Software Test data prior to the start of the training. The computers should also have a copy of Microsoft Excel for downloading data. An easily accessible printer should also be available for the training session.
- Course notes should be printed and bound before the training. Pens and papers should be available or brought along in case people want to make notes.
- Where language is a problem, i.e. trainees' first language is not English, we need to be sure that someone is available who can translate questions and answers. In these cases it is best to train a key user who has the necessary language skills and can assist or train new users. In this situation we should allow much more time for the training than usual.
- The site's Systems Administrator should get an understanding of all training topics, and ensure that all key Employees attend the modules they are required to.
- Mobile phones should be switched off during training.
- Evaluation forms which give the trainees' feedback should be completed after the training on each day. This is a feedback to Scope Systems and your Management. An evaluation form is required before a certificate will be issued. There is no formal testing at the end of the course.
The above standards and expectations are identical to those applied for training conducted at Scope Systems premises.
